wocomoco 2015: Green-Points Booster – powered by ÖBB

At the 3rd World Collaborative Mobility Congress (wocomoco 2015), forward thinkers in the field of comobility have a unique chance to turn their project ideas into innovative environmental projects, thanks to ÖBB's "Green Points". Those who impress at the ÖBB pitch event can put their sustainable comobility concepts into practice with the aid of Green Points.

What this is about:
In the context of its sustainability strategy, ÖBB has been inviting its passengers to collect Green Points since 2014, with the aim of conveying the enormous environmental effect of train travel (in Austria, 3 million tonnes of CO2 are saved by train passengers) more visibly. With this programme, ÖBB launched "Österreich blüht auf" (Austria is blossoming), the country's largest environmental movement. The idea behind it is simple: train passengers can register their journeys with an app and receive Green Points in exchange. These can then be invested in a selection of (currently eight) environmental projects. As soon as the total number of points required for a project is reached, ÖBB implements that project and provides another for selection. This way, Austria shall really blossom in 2015!

On the occasion of the third World Collaborative Mobility Congress, to be held in Innsbruck for the first time on the 25th and 26th of June 2015, ÖBB is organising a pitch event together with the Mobility Academy, giving innovators from the field of "shared mobility" the chance to present their concepts and projects to an audience and jury for ten minutes (including questions and answers). The winning project becomes part of the ÖBB Green Points programme.
